This holder has a good build quality and nice operation. Item would be improved if the connecting stem was a flexible section between the base and cradle.

This holds my iPhone 4S securely in or out of its flip case (with the flip folded behind or left dangling), and the buttons, headphone socket, speakers and sync cable are unobstructed. It also fits my 2g iPod Nano (in or out of case) - the flip down support does cover the sync and headphone sockets but the side grips hold it well enough to do without it.

Once in place it feels solid with very little wobble, sitting between the gear stick and my left knee which is much lower than an air vent or windscreen mount. This is fine for music or answering the phone but not so good for satnav - you do have to fight the temptation to look down at the map instead of where you are going, but it's still better than steering with one hand, changing gear with the other, and holding an A-Z in a third.

On my first attempt to fit it into my Focus Mk1 as I tightened the base up it tried to climb up out of the cupholder - the 'ears' on the rubber pads look like they should sit on the top of the cup hole not inside it and on the Focus the top of the hole is at an angle. Once I'd taken a Stanley knife to the 'ears' it works really well and would probably now fit almost 'all' cars rather than just 'most' - manufacturer take note.

Bear in mind that it only costs £16 and is made from plastic; bend the stalk to the approximate position before tightening the base or attaching the phone - if treated carefully it's a good bit of kit and should last a good long time.

This item seemed ideal for my needs - my Samsung Galaxy S2 fitted neatly and was held firmly in place. Brilliant! Within 3 months one of the holding lugs snapped - I contemplated returning it but was ill at the time so made do using one of the other lugs. Within a month or so, the other lugs had all snapped. My phone is held in place with an elastic band now! Useless!!!!!

Item arrived within stated time, and works well in holding my Samsung galaxy W phone with leatherish, case. It is a nice snug fit on about the 5th setting with the larger brackets fitted. The holder itself is well constructed, quite rigid in use and fits very well in the cup holders of my Renault scenic. Would recommend this product to anyone with a phone not exceeding two and a half inches wide.
