TV was fine for just over 12 months... then the sound cut out and wil not come back on unless I turn TV off and on again. VERY disappointing

When I first used this TV it was fine, however while the Guarantee lasts 12 Months, I did expect the TV to work for some time after the guarantee expired, sadly this was not the case 14 months after purchase the TV had a big black line through the centre of the TV, the Toshiba Advised “As the unit is no longer within the 12 month manufacturer's warranty period we will be unable to offer a free repair for this fault.”

The Toshiba-authorised repairer. was miles away and the cost of the simply not worth it
I am very disappointed in Toshiba and will never purchase a TV from them again as simply not reliable

Brought this for my Dad's 60th birthday and Fathers Day - he loves and uses it all the time. Great with the Freeview as it gives him more choice of programmes. Really good picture and sound.

I bought this for my mother to finally replace her ageing CRT TV (and to give her Freeview as switchover loomed.
As with all LCDs, this is a great space saver - the screen is considerably larger than her old 4:3 21-inch yet the TV takes far less space.
Picture is very good, tuning was easy, sound is typical for an LCD: thin but clear. This is not an issue (indeed too much bass is not ideal for an older person as it masks speech).
Easy to use - mum is almost 90 and has no complaints about the remote.
So, very pleased with this purchase - it suits its purpose very well.

Thats the worst tv i bought. 1 month after i got it it start making strange noises which it still does. I called Toshiba costumer service about the warranter and they told me to contact the seller. I have written to them more than 4 times without any answer yet and its been months. Also asked to return it I filled the form and still waiting answer and its been months again. I am trying again but I have lost hope the seller is the worst ever without any costumer service.

Arrived within specified delivery time. Very simple to set up, took no time at all. Only downside is the sound quality, but I'm sure if we linked it up to speakers, this would give better clarity.

I am delighted with this television with regard to picture, sound and colour quality, and it is excellent value for money.

Bought this model as it was reasonably cheap and was a "branded" TV, ie not an annon brand you see in the supermarkets. The set up was reasonably easy and the picture quality adequate. The sound was rather poor but a pair of earphones made for better listening.
This TV lives in the bedroom and as such sees very little use, except for when the wife catches up on her soaps.

Excellent Amazon delivery as always.

Very disappointed with the menu/information functions on this TV. On browsing through the channels a quarter of the screen is taken up with a blank black box which contains no information whatsoever; what is the point in that!? The functionality on my 8 year old Philips TV is far superior to this. I have spoken to Toshiba and apparently several of their models have been designed like this, they realise it's not ideal and there's nothing they can do about it. Needless to say, I won't ever be buying another Toshiba TV!
