These Sony 3D glasses represent a significant step forward from the previous two iterations from Sony. The `original' 3D glasses from 2010 - Sony TDG-BR100 Adult Size 3D Active Glasses, Black - are extremely bulky and uncomfortable plus they require a battery to work. In 2011 Sony improved their glasses making them rechargeable from the TV and a bit lighter - see Sony TDGBR250 Rechargeable 3D Glasses - but they still are pretty uncomfortable and bulky. The new glasses are frameless and much lighter - rather like sunglasses. Like the 2011 version they are rechargeable so there's no need for a battery, and they charge very quickly indeed. While they are not quite as comfortable as ordinary glasses - they sit rather high on your face, I assume to allow space for users to wear they normal prescription glasses - they are a massive improvement.

An added bonus is that the glasses work with all previous Sony TVs. I also found that crosstalk was a little reduced although it's possible that I'm imagining this as the TV remains the same! While more expensive than the other 3D glasses Sony have produced, I'd expect the price to fall. The original glasses cost in excess of £100 but prices have come down. Certainly if you're thinking of replacing existing glasses, or buying them for the first time, as someone who has all three types, I'd really recommend these notwithstanding the cost.

Five stars for a remarkable advance in technologies.

I purchased these glasses with a little hesitation as i had an earlier model the TDG-BR100 which where heavy and uncomfortable and where returned due to the 3d image on my 32 inch sony 2011 model virtually unwatchable with crosstalk issues and tilting my head when wearing these caused the 3d image to cut out not impressed!!
Well what can i say sony have restored my faith in their products. These glasses are great! lightweight fully adjustable and great quick charge functionality they charge in 5mins for 2-3 hours watching time via usb on your sony tv.They are not a perfect fit over prescription glasses but they do fit over them and you hardly notice them on. With some adjustment of your tv setting in 3D mode you can certainly reduce the crosstalk issue. TIP: in 3d setting set your 3d glasses brightness level to LOW. Some 3D films are better than others for noticing crosstalk but i have to say that viewing 3D now is a vast improvement using these glasses well done Sony!! Two points that i would say about these glasses 1)is the price very expensive but amazon came up with the best price thumbs up!! and 2) the led light is on the top of the glasses in the middle of the lenses you notice the flashing especially when it is dark a bit annoying but once you are into the film it doesnt really notice that much. Overall very good well worth the investment

4.0 out of 5 stars Top end 3D glasses for the fashion conscious, 9 Jun 2012

The Sony 750 active shutter glasses are at the top end of 3D glasses. However for those looking for reliable quality, great battery life and a better look than the chunky 3D glasses you can't go wrong. They look sleek and are fully adjustable, including and additional nose rest in case the existing one isn't comfortable. The arms are fully flexible to offer a more secure fit. Like the lower end 250 series these glasses have no problem fitting around your glasses. They fit over my smaller frames snugly and I can't see a problem with larger frames either.

They come in a cloth pouch as the 250's do, which is a shame as for the price you'd expect a hard case to keep them secure. Nearly a hundred pounds worth of 3D glasses are sadly just as breakable as a two quid pair. You also get a USB charging cable which neatly slots into the bottom.

For the price it's hard to justify why these glasses are better than the pair of 250's I own. Design-wise they are miles apart, function-wise not so much. It all depends how much you care about your appearance whilst watching films I guess.
