This is a really nice piece of kit. Very slim and light but with a sturdy base. A narrow bezel so the screen comes right out at you. I particularly like the way I can plug a terabyte hard drive into it, immediately get an explorer like view of the file system, navigate through it quickly and it plays everything I've tried with no problems

2.0 out of 5 stars Good product, poor customer service, 14 Jan 2013

Having purchased the LED TV last July we have been generally very happy with its performance, however, we have suffered a problem with the HDMI ports that has exposed serious weaknesses in the LG customer service.

The issue we have had is that the HDMI ports do not connect, this was only exposed later in the life of the unit when we finally upgraded older equipment to use these ports. When we spoke to LG customer service they were surprised we could not use other equipment to test these ports (even surprised that we only had a single TV). We finally found a way to test the new DVD player and LG accepted the TV was at fault, at this point they told us that we could either get a replacement TV (which turned out to be a proposed refurbished model not new) or will take our TV away for up to 28 days. A follow up call clarified that they would not provided a refurbished TV after all (no idea where this came from) but the TV would be repaired, when challenged on if a temporary unit will be provided they said that was not their policy and until they knew what had failed no commitment would be made on the repair time.

Pros:
1. Slim bezel round the screen gives a smaller unit and much more attractive
2. Easy to set up
3. Clear picture with excellent picture wizzard
Cons:
1. Sounds could be more powerful
2. LG customer service is inconsistent and weak

Summary:
Love the unit but would not recommend it to anyone due to the poor and inconsistent LG customer service.

Excellent purchase. Auto-adjusts the screen size depending on what you are watching. Loads of other settings that can be adjusted. Can play multimedia content through a USB stick.

Have just used the internet connection on the back to watch the last episode of "Last Tango In Halifax" streaming it from my PC upstairs (downloaded off YouTube, converted to an .AVI file and then activated server using Nero 8 - the bundled Nero Home Essentials didn't seem to work so used my own version).

Also extremely easy to update the software via USB.

This is my first flat screen TV and I am more than happy with it. Highly recommended.

The tv is fantastic, the picture is amazing, and the quality is superb. Never found a tv so easy to set up as this one. All done in no time at all. Easy to add other equipment to it, and sound quality is fantastic.

Picture quality is superb and I think overall this TV is great value for what you pay but ...

1) The sound is terrible if you want to play a movie and have it slightly above average. It sounds "tinny" like the speaker is vibrating a piece of tin at high frequency . If you plug your own sound system in the back then you will of course solve the problem completely. But out the box the sound is quite awful compared to my Samsung 42inch.
2) The dlna feature is horrible. You cannot organise the video or music in folders so it can be very difficult to find something specific if you have a large selection of video, music, pictures.

I wish I had gone for a smart TV but I had thought DLNA would be more use full, it was not.

Firstly, the picture is fantastic: vibrant, clear, and fast enough for gaming. Sound was very tinny initially and required a great deal of tinkering in the settings menu to get a reasonable output.

We use this TV in a student house where it gets a lot of use for freeview viewing and gaming. Everyone in the house is pleased with the TV: however, were it to be used for lots of movie viewing - where good sound quality is more important - I would feel the need to get separate speakers to improve the output.

I agree with most of the reviews already written, good value nice telly. However mine lost the sound after a few months but contacted customer care and all I had to do was go into setup delete exhisting channels and reprogramme - sound back ok. Seems this happens sometimes due to automatic updates through the tv signal. You may find this useful.
