I bought this TV for my daughter as a house warming present, the whole family enjoy the Smamt TV, picture is excellent and it far more than just a television. I should of dug deeper in my pockets and invested in a 46 inch like ours.

First off, I didn't buy this TV at Amazon as I prefer some of my money tp pay for our hospitals rather than go in some American fat cats back pocket.

I had a high expectancy of the TV after reading the reviews on here and elsewhere and was chuffed to get it at a good price at a local store. The TV is light so you can carry it under your arm and was easy to get home.

The first problem I encountered was the supplied stand. It's horrible and there were no instructions on how to assemble it in the box. You'd think it would be obvious how it should go together but it wasn't! Anyway after finally assembling it and standing the TV temporarily on the kitchen table I noticed that it leans forward! After a quick disassembly and reassembly of the stand I realised that this is just how it is. A leaning TV, great. Move the TV at all and you'll be greeted by creaks and groans as the cheap stand struggles to keep hold of the light TV. Nevermind, I thought, I'm going to wall mount it.

Second problem. The holes for the bolts are inset into the back of the TV by about an inch. Why? Every wall bracket I bought didn't account for this fact and came with bolts which are less than one inch long. I finally gave up on getting a bracket that would come with everything I needed and wandered off to my local hardware store (not B&Q who didn't have the bolts and if they did you'd have to but 10 for about £6) and bought some for a pound. Come to mount the TV on the stand and I can't because the aerial sticks out. The actual aerial socket STICKS OUT of the back by about 1/4 inch! They inset the holes but not the aerial socket! Now I'm waiting for a right angled aerial plug....

And the telly itself? The pictures not bad but we all soon got bored of the terrible Smart TV implementation. I've connected the TV by Cat5 cable, not wireless but still have to wait about 10 seconds for Smart to come on. Typing with the remote is a pain. Skype seems a good idea but you need a £70 Samsung webcam to use it with video. YouTube playlists are a good idea but after playing the first video you'll never get to see the 2nd one, it just pauses with an egg timer!

Get this, flicking through the channels with the channel + and - keys doesn't show what's on the channel! It shows the channel number and name but not what's on! You have to wait a second or two to see what's on and decide if you want to continue surfing the channels or not. I don't think I've seen a TV missing such a basic feature as that for about 5 years!

To sum up, sound is crap, picture is OK (better on the few HD FreeView channels), no on/off switch, Smart is a waste of time and mounting the TV is a joke!

The tv was easy to install and set up. It has a large clear screen without a big ugly surround. The picture is great. all the smart features are up and running. Very pleased with purchase

We did quite a lot of research around TVs, including checking the Which reports on best value and best performing TVs and this model came out on top.

We have had the TV for about a month so far and have found it absolutely great, easy to set up. We think good picture and sound, we bought a dongle for the internet and that was very straightforward. We haven't explored the 'smart' part of the TV as much, but I know we have access to iPlayer and other bits and pieces.

This Television is amazing for the money.
Smart hub works well giving access to iplayer, itv player lovefilm etc
Picture quality is much better than my last Samsung LCD TV.
This TV was very easy to set up and adjust even the wifi worked first time hastle free.
The TV updated itself to the latest software when first setting up.

Again for the money this TV is hard to beat

I bought this product a few months ago and it's really great especially if you have a Samsung phone with it. You can use your phone as a remote. You can use it to play music or video straight from the phone to the Samsung tv with only a touch of a button. I was really amazed what you can do with a Samsung phone and this TV.

This is the best TV I have ever had the pleasure of owning!

The Samsung 5500 is beautiful to look at, extremely slim, has a glossy black glass screen with back light, superb clear picture (especially when set to 'Dynamic') and the Smart Hub is brilliant.

The Smart Hub allows you to access a lot of different Apps (applications) e.g. You Tube, Facebook, Movies and Music etc etc... all via your fancy remote contol.

The Tv itself has plenty of USB and HDMI ports (these allow you to see and listen to other devices plugged into your TV e.g. FreeSat, Sky Box, XBox, Playstation, external hard drive etc). It is simple enough to navigate around and it's size is perfect for most size rooms.

Top Tips: If you have a PC or Laptop turn on your 'homesharing', this will allow you to see your photos on the TV as a slideshow, and listen to your music. Only clean this TV with a TV spray or computer cleaner and smooth cloth to avoid marks and imperfections.
