It's probably fair to say that aside from Dell, Samsung is one of the main brands you'll see in my home. My experience with Samsung has been a wholly positive experience so when it came to selecting a new full-HD television, the question was only one of which Samsung model.This TV is my first LED screen and it's impressive. Bright display with a full range of colour and contrast, its multiple inputs allows me to cable in a variety of appliances including computers to make a fully featured entertainment center.
The SMART functions are capable if a little slow to initialise and launch, but the video services (LoveFilm, YouTube etc.) deliver content smoothly.
If you want to connect the TV to the internet and your router isn't close enough to permit physical connection, I recommend using Powerline adapters over the somewhat expensive wifi dongle for the TV.

I hate having to say this about a Christmas present, ( from my wife ) and I am hoping that when I go back to the shop with it tomorrow that I can get a replacement, but this Samsung 40" Full HD Smart has the worst colour I've ever seen. My son has the identical TV and when he showed me his I could have wept as his picture and colours were stunning. I copied his settings and transferred them to my own set, and the result? no better - intense blues and "pink" reds, i have adjusted the settings every which way but to no avail. I am worried that they are going to try and palm me off with adjustments. I disposed of my old Tube style Philips 32" 100 hz W/screen 8 yo and incredibly natural picture, and I only got £50 for it - I want it back pleeeeeeze 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful

I have worked with a lot of Samsung TV and this is the first one in a long while that has blown me away with how good it is, this is the best TV Samsung has made in a long while, possible THE best.The TV has the following connection options:
1x component/ AV input
3x HDMI input
2x USB input
1x RGB
1x LAN input
1x DVI audio input
1x Digital audio output
1x aerial input
1x headphone input
The TV itself is incredible light making it easy to pick up and move around, it's simple to put the stand together and connect it to the TV.
The built quality is great, both the front and the back cabinet is made from plastic which is why it is so lightweight but it feels solid, the stand is also made of a plastic but this plastic feels cheap. I would have preferred a glass stand like the older LED Samsung models have but it doesn't matter that much.
The frame around the screen is quite small which make the screen seem wider and taller.
The picture quality is superb, especially in HD. Both bright and dark colours have an incredible amount of detail to them and movies are a joy to watch when using a blu ray player. As well regular free-view channels this tv has access to free-view HD channels at no additional cost which help demonstrate how good the picture quality is when in HD.
Sound quality is good, some cheaper brand TVs' audio start to distort when approaching high volume levels but this TV doesn't and it can get pretty loud while keeping a clear sound.
The difference between regular TVs and SMART TVs like this is these TVs can connnect to the Internet which allows the user to access program's such as BBC iPlayer where you can watch any show put up at anytime for no cost. Other program's accessible through this TV include:
Netflix
Love film
BBC iPlayer
Youtube
With Netflix or love film you pay a small monthly fee and you can watch any movie on their channel and you can watch as many as you want, this is a service I recommend as a must have for film lovers.
To access the SMART TV functions you just need to attach a Samsung wireless adaptor to the USB slot or attach an Ethernet cable to the appropriate port. Very simple to do.
Program's such as Facebook and twitter aren't ideal for a TV as that is something I do on my phone or iPad but the fact that it's on the TV for those people that Do want it is nice.
Using the SMART tv program's is very simple once you get used to it and I see it being implemented in all future TVs.
Overall I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a 32" TV, especially if that person has Wi-Fi in their house as that helps to connect to the SMART TV functions easier. But even without those functions this is still a great TV with stunning HD picture quality.

for the price its amazing a lot better than my sony its replacedyou tube did not work at first but i only had to update the app them it works fine

This TV is great for us. The HD picture is very good, and sound is great, too. Takes about 3 seconds to turn on from the remote, and takes around 20 seconds to fire up YouTube from a cold start. Typing isn't something you'd want to do a lot of without a keyboard, as you have to select each letter via the up/down/left.right keys on a virtual onscreen keyboard. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful

My 1st ever Amazon review ! i write this in the hope it may help others, this is a great TV but when i 1st set it up it the smart TV part of it kept updating/downloading and BBC iplayer and the web browser kept failing and reporting that the TV wasnt connected to the internet, then the internet trouble shooter would say it is !Anyway i took the plunge and downloaded the updated software direct from the Samsung site and installed it to the TV using a USB memory stick (you can do this via the TV's internet connection also), that worked a treat and all functions including BBC iplayer now work without a problem.
So if you buy one of these be prepared to have to update it, but other than that its great.

Wonderful piece of engineering easy to operate BUT if you live outside of the UK as I do then a few of the items don't work as I thought like no English TV, and no way to change the language into English... What Other Items Do Customers Buy After Viewing This Item?
