Does what it says as far as I can tell. Have only played existing
media and recorded TV programmes to keep. Look forward to a little time to
edit and transfer precious vcrs onto dvds

I wish I had bought one earlier as I got rid of lots of VHS tapes and this is great for updating to disc.

Ordered the product seems ok but delivery by yodel was shocking returned from work to find the parcel dropped over my 6ft metal gate on full view of the road and the footpath.Checked on amazon delivery info and they said left in porch ain't got a porch. If you do order a big parcel try to make sure you are home as the delivery service is crap and amazon don't seem to care

My husband took ages making his mind up as to what machine we would have. while he was deciding amazon sold out, we should have gone with one of the others because this one was rubbish, we put our order in and waited for stock, a couple of weeks later it arrived. he set it up put a disc in and off we went for about two mins, then it jumped and skipped and stopped, so it has gone back and i have my money back, but now we are back to square one, not happy at all as i threw my old player in the bin,

4.0 out of 5 stars Changing to a DVD/VCR recorder., 24 Nov 2012

The DVD and VCR recorder is just what I wanted following the turning off of analogue TV. I still have a lot of videotapes that I can use for recording or watching although the DVD recordings are better quality. My only criticism is that the handbook has a lot of detail about lesser used features so it took me a while to sort out the essentials - but then I am getting old!

I've held back from buying a video to DVD convertor for a number of years due to the costs but having a little spare cash i decided to take the plunge on this one mainly due to the apparant ease to copy VHS to DVD, my prime reason for the purchase.

As stated elsewhere, the manual seems to be a little on the large side and not as straight forward to read at times but once I got the hang of it last week I've copied 3 videos that view in great quality.

I'm a little unsure how to copy Videos and edit the DVD before finalising it (i.e. chopping bits from the video I don't want) or even compiling a few video's onto one Disc (is this even possible?) before finalising but i'm sure its a case of trial and error.

One major dissapointment is the lack of harddrive and subsequent functionality to copy DVD to DVD so its not perfect - but I suppose it does what I need it to do.

I will more than likely update this review once I manage to work out more functionalities
