it works like any other charger just a bit better for the reason it doesnt protrude leaving you with something that you can back your leg against in the car. really good product and would buy again.

I have found this to provide a very poor connection to attached USB cables. This is a shame as I have other Griffin products which feel sturdy but this is very poor, lasting only a few months of intermittent use.

WARNING To guarantee the genuine article only purchase direct from Amazon!!!...not a reseller, a fake is easy to spot as pointed out in the pictures above (no packing, poor quality plastics with bad joints, poor logo printing, generally poor finishing all over) the genuine article has welded joints (not clipped), clearly printed logos and CE mark (no over print or blurring) and sealed packaging. I had 2 devices to plug into this but only one charges okay...darn..the smartphone ignores it..considering the work around

Unlike most car chargers this does not work with 24v systems, got a fried sat nav and smartphone as an expensive lesson!

I had couple of them before but this was so far the best buy. You can charge multiple devises as it has two usb charging slots. Very andy and good product.

just the job - brill little thing. happy to recommend for any driver. duel socket meant the passenger could keep working while driver still navigated.........

I now wish I had read these reviews before buying 2, then buying another 2 after the first 2 broke, only to discover the next 2 also broke after a while.

It's a pity because the design is actually great; small enough to be hidden in foldable cigarette lighters, with 2 USB ports! Great idea!

BUT, only as long as it works.

The first of the 4 simply shattered apart for NO REASON whatsoever when removed from the cigarette lighter to plug a car hoover. To be accurate, the tip end broke followed by the entire thing breaking apart.

The second broke at the same area as the first without falling apart. I held the broken piece together while inserting it back into the cigarette lighter: BIG MISTAKE. It continued working but when I got to removing it from the cigarette lighter again, the metal tip along with broken pieces of plastic all fell into the cigarette lighter. This tripped the fuse and cigarette lighter stopped working until I replaced the fuse in the car.

The third never broke apart physically, but one of the USB ports started behaving odd. It would give power at some times and not in others. Plugging into the second port worked, but that stopped working after a while too. Eventually both simply stopped providing any power at all.

The fourth and final one... the best behaved one actually. The problem was however that the bezel around the charger near around the ports fractured. I had to get rid of it although it wasn't a big fracture because I expected it to continue breaking and was worried I wont be able to remove it if the bezel broke completely.

Unfortunately you'll have to look around a lot to find a similarly compact charger with 2 USB ports. I've done that, and found they exist. Just search "usb car charger" and browse around, you'll surely find them. Haven't tried any but unless they blow up or drive you car into a tree, they can't be worse than this.

So if you're really tempted and want to go through the experience, or simply want to challenge these little menaces then go ahead and buy one. Just be careful with your cigarette lighter.

If however you decide to benefit from others' experiences, look elsewhere.

Thought with Griffin that it would be a good product - it worked while it lasted but one day after (3 months of use) in the car it just stopped working - tried it with different cables then in different cars - It just broke without any thing being done to it - lost confidence in Griffin now
