I bought this player only because I wanted a compact and stylish player with 3D support and DVD upscaling. The DVD upscaling works wonderfully well. The picture is very sharp and detailed. The 3D discs load without a problem. The player is very quiet and works great. The first unit I received had a faulty disc loading mechanism but I got the replacement unit within two days without any problems. It has been working without any problems since then.
I already own a smart TV so I don't need the Smart Hub features of the player and I cannot comment on the functionality. However I was able to set up the wireless without any problem and the player updated the firmware automatically when it was set up.
If you are after a compact, stylish, well built 3D Bluray player with DVD upscaling, quiet and fast operation, then this is the player you.

I read a lot of these reviews before buying this blu ray player, so i was a bit sceptical of how well the smart hub features would actually work. Firstly, i guess some of the reviews are a bit out of date, as iPlayer and love film apps are now definitely available on this machine. Secondly, i think the people having trouble updating software/firmware or streaming videos might want to check their internet speeds. I have it connected to a pretty average uk broadband package and it works perfectly. Updated the software the first time i turned it on and only took a couple of minutes, and streaming videos on iplayer and lovefilm both work perfectly.Other than this, playing dvds/blu rays obviously works fine, and the fact that it is so small is awesome (makes you wonder why all other blu ray players are so big!).

I bought this mainly to bring Smart Hub functionality to my non-wifi-enabled 42" Toshiba LCD TV, having recently discovered the benefits of Smart Hub on a 22" Samsung TV bought for the bedroom. It is compact, well-built, easy to set up. I bought a Blu-ray disc to try it out and the quality is excellent. I can now use AllShare (DLNA) to play my HD video podcasts (which download to my Windows desktop) seamlessly on the big TV, all controlled from my Android phone. Playback is smooth, same with HD iPlayer and HD youtube.Only a couple of (minor) disappointments. Not sure why but the ITV Player app does not appear to be available, at least not yet. This is odd because I have it (not that I use it much) on my Samsung TV, and the Blu-ray player is a current model. The other nuisance is that I'd hoped to connect the blu-ray player to my Sky+ box with an ethernet cable so I could access Sky On-Demand without having to get a Wireless Connector, just to cut down on the proliferation of boxes and wifi devices. Sadly, it doesn't work. The Samsung blu-ray assumes you would only use the LAN connection to hook it up to a broadband router, so the moment you plug it in it automatically cuts off the wireless connectivity, defeating the object. I can't find any settings to get around this. Not a great loss but still a shame.

I have this linked up to my Sony HMZ 3d headset.Problem is the first timne you play the disc the player doesnt recognise the 3d signal.
So for the first 10 mins you are watching in 2D.
If you eject the disc and reinsert then the 3D signal is recognised.
I am assumimg it is the player not the headset as the disc is telling me no 3D equipment attached. The head set tells me no 3d signal from the player.
Reinserting obviously does something to correct the error.
Other than that it is a bargain for what it does and is so compact all i can say is wow!
The other niggle on this is the menu set up is so well hidden I found surrond sound by accident.
Now "promethieus" is awsome in 3d as well as surround sound.
I have knocked it one start for the inherent error even with the most uptodate patch on it.
The hub is slow however. I didnt buy this to replace my internet so not a problem.
