50 inches of pure visual delight. Very slim design looks nice sitting in the corner. Standard definition is good, but the hd channels really shine with clarity and detail. I had a 42inch Phillips with ambilight which gave good pictures, but not quite up to this LG. And as is the way of many LCD screens the Phillips developed black vertical smudges down the screen. Time to go back to plasma, so I chose this LG model. Plenty of sound and picture options to mess about with to tune it to your eyes and ears for the perfect viewing experience. One thing to be aware of is when playing video games on Xbox, ps3, Wii, there is considerable lag between controller and what happens on screen. The picture settings don't seem to make much of a difference and a quick Google search will show that this is a problem that at the moment doesn't appear to have a remedy.
The package for this tv does not include 3D glasses, so to buy enough for the whole family will bump the total purchase price up. Also, it only comes with the standard tv control so if you want the "magic wand" controller designed for easy use when connected to the internet you'll have to spend another wad of cash. Not forgetting that if you want the internet connection you'll need the LG WiFi dongle, (costing more money) or you'll have to buy the cable to run to your router. Either way, it's another expense.
The whole tv package is easy to set up, just follow the on screen instructions and away you go. Bluray Lord of the Rings looks amazing and is worth the asking price alone.
Enjoy.

This review is from: LG 50PM670T 50-inch Full HD 1080p Plasma 3D Smart TV with Freeview and 4 HDMI Ports (Electronics)
I purchased this TV on the 21st December 2012 in time for Christmas. It arrived safe and sound the next day via Amazon prime. I decided to take the plunge and buy this TV as a replacement for my old 42" after reading the reviews from here and What-HiFi magazine. Previously I had owned a 2003 Panasonic Plasma TH-42PE30 which had been calibrated by a chap from AV-Forums shortly after I bought it.Initial set up of the LG 50PM670T out of the box was easy. It's fairly slim and light weight for me (I'm a big lad) but may need two people to get it on a TV stand or wall. The menu screens are nice and simple to use and with stuff like youtube, Netflix, itv player, BBC iplayer and a whole host of Smart TV apps. There is a lot to keep your behind rooted to its chair! The TV is connected to the internet via an RJ45 Ethernet lead connected to my Virgin Media Super Hub. No need for the LG wireless Broadband /DLNA adaptor (AN-WF100 Wi-Fi dongle) sold separately.
The 2D picture quality is OUTSTANDING. I have watched these Blu-Ray titles so far on this TV: Avengers Assemble, Starship Troopers, The Dark Knight Rises. All of these titles shine on this TV. They are a pleasure to watch. I find using the THX Certified Cinema setting best to watch Blu-Ray movies. You can access this from the settings menu accessed via the remote that comes with the television. The recommended Magic remote (sold separately), I have not invested in because there is a downloadable app via the iTunes store that will allow you to control the television just as well on your iPhone over wi-fi. Back to picture quality, I have a Sky+HD box connected and on acquiring the TV I decided to fire up a Sky HD subscription. All HD channels look fantastic on this beauty. Sky movies Premire HD and MGM HD are my favourites. I very rarely watch a channel now that isn't HD. That's how much a difference it has made to my viewing habits. Freeview antenna broadcasts look good also.
The 3D picture quality and experience is just superb. To have things like Iron Man wizzing out of the screen at you is fun. 3D glasses DO NOT come with this television so I bought a pair of Active LG AG-S350 3D glasses only for LG Plasma 3D Televisions. These have to be charged before use via the USB ports on the television.
I have watched Avengers Assemble, Prometheus, John Carter and Tron Legacy in 3D. The picture setting I find best to watch these on is 'vivid'. I find that the 3D THX Certified setting dulls the picture. I have to say that Tron Legacy in 3D was a let down because this movie was shot in 2D and 3D, while the others were shot in 3D all the way. Believe me when you put those glasses on you'll notice the difference. I have not watched the `big' one yet which is Avatar (which I bought over Christmas 2012), but I'm sure I won't be disappointed. After all that's what this whole 3D experience was designed for right?
I have a few AV connected devices set up on this TV. I have a PS3 (TV recognises 3D content played from this also), Sky+ HD Box, LG BH7420P 3D Blu Ray 5.1 Channel 1100W Home Cinema System and Apple TV. There is a thing called SIMPLINK which allows two LG devices to talk to each other. In this instance when I switch on the TV the Home Cinema System comes on as well. I'll expand on why I have set it up this way later. For SIMPLINK to work you need the right HDMI cables to connect LG devices. Ordinary HDMI cables that don't support HEC ARC and CEC will not work over SIMPLINK. I know this because I found out the hard way. I bought a whole bunch of LINDY 1m Premium High Speed HDMI cable with Ethernet from Amazon. All my HD AV devices are connected using this cable which I highly recommend.
There a few down sides to the telly however. And it would only be fair to mention these. The TV speakers are absolutely terrible. A real let down to the TV as a whole. No bass or an inch of clarity. My old 10 year Panasonic Plasma had better built in speaks. So that's why I invested in an LG BH7420P cinema system. Hence I was adamant that the SIMPLINK option was used to its full potential essentially giving the TV a new set of speakers to replace the `tin tiny' built in ones.
There is also a small amount of `image burn' when the screen goes a dark after flicking through menu screens from the LG home screen or youtube. Shadow imprint images can be seen to get retained on screen for about 30 seconds or less before fading out altogether. Not a major issue for me because they do disappear. I have read somewhere that it is natural and once the TV has been running for a substantial amount of time (200 hours or so, a kind of breaking in if you will) this issue will be resolved. I'll reserve judgement on that however as I'm not convinced. The TV screen surface is very reflective. Almost like a mirror so this TV is best situated in a room with blinds or shutters away from direct sunlight near a window.
So to wrap up, the TV is the business. Good HD/3D picture quality. Natural colours and a striking performance given from all devices connected to it via HDMI. I've given it four stars because of the cons mentioned above. Otherwise it would have gotten five. For the price you will not be going far wrong. All you need to do to be fully up and running from the get go is to buy a few additional components mentioned here and do some online research.

I bought this in September and I have it from few months...1. When I receive it first time I installed the TV and after 10 minutes a GREEN LINE ACROSS THE TV the screen was broken...I contacted Amazon they sent another one with no charge 2 days delivery, people from Yodel came and took it and them City Link delivered it to me..
2. After installed the second time it was working fine and since them I have no trouble with it.!!
Excellent image everything is working.. Freeview HD (BBC HD, BBC1 HD, ITV1 HD, Chanel4 HD) No problem
Blu-Ray Movies perfect
3D I have no tried yet because the Glasses a very expensive !!! I need at leas 5 pairs for me and my family to watch all together..
To save money I recommend to not buy LG AN-WF100 Wi-Fi Dongle for Wireless Access to LG Smart TV with cost £30 and I bought 30M CAT5e RJ45 ETHERNET LAN NETWORK PATCH LEAD CABLE with about £4 and i connected my TV with the modem with was in other room and everything is perfect and I saved about £25...
I recommend this TV despite the fact I received the First one with the screen Broken..:D

Mine is shop bought from Currys pre christmas all in I paid £748 for the tv and 2 glasses and a metre and a half 3d tv lead. I wanted it pre christmas so I didnt mind losing out on the sales but I got a decent deal on the cable and glasses possibly because the tvs would be in the sale after christmas and Currys would presumably charge full price on the 3d lead and glasses. I searched for my model which is LG50PM680T but for Amazon review purposes this is closest to my model number and looks to be the same tv. The tv is the first step into smart tv at a plasma price. This means this tv is a step up from a 50 inch plasma 600hz tv which you can now buy for peanuts, like £449!The step up to smart tv is really worth it. The apps as mentioned by other reviewers are great. I have found the Netflix app to be an absolute god send for stopping my kids from buying expensive on demand films through Virgin. Other than that Youtube app has been used a lot, the 3d which worked very well has only been used once because a film cost 6.99 on Virgin and even more by tv app so forget that, Netflix is getting hammered and I will be more than happy to subscribe to them for 5.99 a month. The tv is freeview hd or like me it can be used with exsisting virgin box. Its been very easy to use. The tv picture is great. My only thing to do now is to get a wireless keyboard and mouse for the televisions internet search as the tv's qwerty pad on the remote is slow and time consuming. My previous tv was a 40 inch sony bravia bought from the sony shop so this tv has replaced a very decent model of tv and as yet I have not been disappointed.

Easy to sort out even for a 61 year old reverend! Had to buy a gongle costing £25 to be able to go on the internet and two 3D glasses costing £60 plus a wall mount. So true cost was over £700.Reved Scott
