I was slightly doubtful about buying this blu ray player as some reviews said it was noisy. Ours is silent as far as I can tell without lying with my head on the shelf with it. The picture is great and the sound much better too (I always thought my Fellowship of the Ring had a dud soundtrack but it plays fine on this player).
It is also really easy to set up. I did it in a few moments.
Delighted.

I like this - simple getting it to work! Connect it up, switch it on & it's ready to go :) As a technophobe, that's all I want, but there are more complicated instructions for connecting to pc etc if you want to. Remote is easy, with well labelled & easy to read buttons. I'd read somewhere that dvd players take a while to get going, but this started playing as soon as I loaded the disc. Player looks smart too, slim & black. If you want a good, not expensive, easy to use blu ray player, pick this one.

After having this for about a year, I'm happy to say it's ticked all the boxes.

Being black and relatively slim in comparison to the silver DVD player I had before, it sits underneath my black and relatively slim HDTV (in comparison to the silver one that came before that).

Nothing has broken, no major errors, updates software now and again but does it quickly.

Very nice indeed.

This is the first blue ray player I have bought, it does everything I need from a DVD player works well, works fine no problems, plus it a nice thin size much better than the giant size players that I've had before.

AS a blu-ray player i cannot fault it, it play superb, plays all most every thing, BUT here's the BUT it says you can play movies on it from a external hard drive, Well I've tried to play movies from my samsung hard drive i got from amazon, and i can't play them on my tv, maybe i'm doing something wrong, but I've tried everything, and if you use a usb stick, the films you put on it as to be in AVI format or there wont play, if you look at the review on the second page he had the same problem, but as a player great.

This is simply a great quality player, with fast opening DVD tray and is smaller width-wise, than most . Well recommended - for the price, get one !.

Having had to buy a new TV...I decided it was time to invest in a BluRay player.
I did not want to spend much money...I have done this in the past, and found very little gain over entry players (DVD).
After some research I went for the DMP-B75EB-K......matching my `new` Panasonic Plasma.
After hooking it up I popped in a DVD, and very pleased I was with the upscaling of the cheap and cheerful Panasonic.
With a BluRay disc the pic went another notch better so all seem honky dory.
It was only when I hooked it up to my Marantz Home Cinema Amp via Optical connection that a problem arose....
There is no 5.1 Dolby Digital.....you only get 2.1.
It took me awhile to work this out.....eventually via some Hi-Fi forums and looking more closely at the spec of the player.
I just presumed it would be 5.1 !!!! even the cheapest DVD players these days are 5.1.
A very silly oversight by Panasonic on their part.
I was going to return the Player because of that but decided to keep it.
I use the DSP mode on the Marantz for a surround sound. Not as good but good enough.
Other than that, its a very good player, with a useful USB on the front, and its very discrete.
But in summing up I can only give it 3/5 for the glaring omission of the 5.1 Dolby Digital sound processing.
If this player is just for a bedroom ect with no need for surround...go ahead its a good entry into BluRay.

Cheap, very fast and easy to use.
So far it says DVD and blueray fine.
Also stuck a USB in with an avi format movie. Was expecting it to not like the format and be hard work to get working but it worked no problem!
