I cant say that the similar cheaper products are any better or worse. On Amazon similar products are upto 70% cheaper. Thats an individual decision.
What I can say is that when I opened this original by Samsung I really could not see where the money went. Let me say that it all wroks very well. Once its up you could hang a horse on it.
However, it feels light and cheap and plasticky. I suppose if you spend £2000 on a TV Set than another £60 is not much in the scheme of things.
But I feel cheated. I would not be surprised if all of the mounts are being made at the same chinese factory and someone at the end of the production line is labelling with different manufacturers.
You are paying for the Samsung name.

We got around problem by using just one of the wall mounts and positioning the wire to its extreme on the back of the TV.

Having spent the best part of £1,500 on a new Samsung smart television, we were inclined to have the set professionally mounted. Having looked at the cost of this though, (around £180 plus the cost of bracket,) we opted to give it a go ourselves...

As others have previously said, the packaging itself is an absolute work of art the only disappointment coming from the poor instructions. Although self explanatory, with a little more information, what is a ten minute job took considerably longer.

Clearer instructions as easy to find on YouTube, but the hardest thing that we faces was screwing the mounting screws into the back of the TV. For sure, they fit well but we were rather retiscent at applying the pressure required to get the screws to bite when the flat screen is simply resting on a rug.

A little bit of a leap of faith but no need to worry though as the screen survived unscathed and the set is now proudly mounted on our wall.

We did consider hiding the cables in the wall cavity but were concerned that should we decided to (or need to,) move the set it would be a serious faff to remove all the cables. Subsequently we bought some trunking from B&Q which works a treat. Note that the trunking that we bought is a lot cheaper than of bought on Amazon and more importantly, is fully paintable. This allows the trunking to blend in perfectly with your decor.

This is a really good product, but you must make sure that you are buying the correct size for your TV. Most places that sell these brackets do so in 2 sizes - below 40" and above 40". However, it isn't that simple as the larger bracket is for over 46" for the latest models of TV. It only fits older 40" models.

Best price I could find for the wall mount, easy to order with so many dud companies around I was a little dubious but no need to worry. The item was dispatched quickly and it arrived on time. would have cost 130 pound for a similar mount at PC World.

I bought this for hanging my new Samsung 55 D7000 on the wall. I wasn't entirely convinced this was the right solution for me even after opening up the packaging of the wall mount and reading the rather terse instructions. I couldn't picture what the TV would look like when hung on the wall, how I'd be able to route the cables that go into its back, how easy it would be to make subsequent changes to cabling, etc. I was under the wrong impression that the TV would be flat on the wall, making things very awkward.

Not so, this wall mount can be used in two configurations to leave either 1cm or 2cm space between the back of the TV and the wall. This leaves sufficient space to route any cables where they are needed. I went for the less ambitious (arguably the less aesthetic too) option of 2cm from the wall. This made the process of hanging it very easy. I was able to hang the TV easily on the wall with just a bit of help from my wife. No strain and no moments of panic. Very easy!

The mount allows the bottom of the TV to be inclined away from the wall to allow plugging in various connectors. Pretty easy again. Despite my best intention to pre-plan all cables going in, I still had to make a few subsequent adjustments. Rather scary at first, but after 2-3 such operations I now feel totally at ease if I need to do it again in future.

The instructions are accurate and the packaging is a work of art, with everything being labeled clearly. It is designed for hollow walls or brick walls with different parts used for each. It also covers several TV models with some parts common, and others distinctive. I struggled a bit to take in the information and work out what I needed to do. One or two descriptive paragraphs would have helped enormously as a complement to the supplied diagrams, which were otherwise very clear.

Overall very happy though.

Purchased this for my Samsung 40" 3D TV (6530). After the day of purchase I was called asking what size my TV was, which I was then told that this wouldn't fit my TV and was swapped with one that fit. The kit is easy to install and does what it says on the tin. Great product!
