Product Overview
Tiny in size but big on performance, the Sony DVPSR760H is the ideal DVD player.TOP QUALITY PICTUREUsing top quality electronics, including a 12-bit video DAC, the Sony produces typically vivid colours and crisp detail from your DVDs. You'll also find a Picture Sharpness control and Customer Picture Mode to further enhance images. Furthermore, the HDMI connection ensures a digital link between TV and DVD player for reduced noise and even crisper picture quality.FLEXIBLE PLAYBACK AND TWO-WAY USBWhen it comes to format support, the DVP-SR760H really excels. XviD, WMA, AAC and SVCD plus jpeg, mp3 and mpeg4 files are all supported, allowing you to playback a wide variety of formats. What's more, these files can be played back by either disc or via the USB socket. Being a two-way design, the USB socket also lets you rip DVD, CD or data files to your USB recording device.ULTRA COMPACT DESIGN AND EASY TO USEWith a width of 270mm and a height of just 38.5mm, the DVPSR760H is smaller than ever, making it ideal for when space is tight, such as in a bedroom or study. A final neat touch is the top mounted and easily accessible main controls, making the DVPSR760H easy to operate even when it's positioned close to the floor.Small in size but big on performance, the Sony DVP-SR760H has it all. 3.0 out of 5 stars Good picture ,but is it on?,, 7 Jan 2013

Needed a small dvd because of problems with space and after having many Sony products in the past opted for this.Fitted great very compact and excellent picture quality uprated to near hd qality. However no display at all and only a dim miniscule green led to let you know its on which is very hard to see in an av cabinet.I know these products are built down to a price but come on Sony how much is a tiny lcd display nowadays?.

Works, but do not put in a dark place as buttons are black on a black case so invisible under the TV. A lot smaller than a normal DVD player. 8 of 9 people found the following review helpful

To be fair to this little DVD its not a bad bit of kit for the price. (absurdly cheap)where a lot of users are going wrong I think is that they are not setting it up - this means reading the manual that comes with it.
In short it dose NOT operate at max quality until its been set up!
you need to get into the custom menu - without a disc playing and follow the set-up instructions ON SCREEN.
You also need to make sure the same is true of your flatscreed/HD Tv. far too many people buy them and watch them straight out of the box - IF you want to get the best out of your equipment YOU MUST SET IT UP or your wasting your money....
The first DVD I played on it was a £3 copy of Legend of the Guardians ,wonderful animation and the detail and colors were fantastic - as near to blue-ray quality as you will get without blue-ray gear.
I was most impressed for the price. PE

i waited and waited for a decent dvd to come on the market, i bought this at a reasonable price, however, i cant fault the piccture quality, the sound is a little on the quiet side but prob my tv as it did this with old dvd player, hdmi only no scart, NO LCD DISPLAY which is annoying as i assumed it would, and the most Annoying issue i have is i cannot change the picture size(tried and failed) im constantly watching dvds in a letterbox view which is extremely annoying and im now thinking of returning...was expecting more from sony and the niggly things outway the good picture quality which is simply set to high contrast(and these settings are not saved my dvd player to constantly having to turn down the high contrast every time i turn it on ... 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful

A brilliant little DVD Player that does its job very well. The picture shown on my Sony HD TV is clear and sharp even from standard DVDs and the unit is unobtrusive. Very good value! Word of caution - no Scart socket, only MDMI connection available. No HDMI lead supplied. 6 of 10 people found the following review helpful

I bought this DVD player to use as a cheap CD player with my very recently bought Sony receiver (STRDH100 AV). However, the remote for the receiver will not operate this DVD player (although it will operate a much older Sony DVD player, much older than the receiver). I recognise that the receiver is no longer a current model, unlike this DVD player, but that is still a disappointment.I hadn't realised how small (narrow) this unit is and that it wouldn't come with any display - every thing has to be read or viewed from the TV screen, which is fine if you are using it to watch DVDs but not much good if you are using it as a CD player.
Since its primary purpose is as a DVD player, I may be being unfair in awarding it only three stars and I have to admit I haven't used it to watch any DVDs. Please, therefore, bear this point in mind if you are deciding to buy the unit based on my rating of it.
