i have recentley purchased this item.very easy to set up however i havnt been able to connect to my tv/digi box to play the sound.sound is good but nothing special had at sale price.basically neede a dvd player /cd system so fits niceley on the tv stand.would recommend for the price but there are better products around

It is a buy worth what you are paying for and it has such an impressive sound out put if you use it with other Sony products when you do the Sync function. Excellent stuff !!!

Tried a cheaper version of Sonys but not as good as this one.

Got this specifically to use with my ps3 for gaming and blu-ray movies. It arrived 4 hours ago and I'm still trying to work out how to get ps3 to work through system...and I'm fairly tech savvy.

After much research online there is not clear and set answer on how to get ps3 to sync with this unit (from what I've read the same issue applies with xbox, laptop, pc...anything other than the included DVD player basically) achieving 5.1 effect. Most common solution is to buy a range of cables/adapters.

So far looks like I'll be returning the unit as found I'm not able to easily use it for the purpose I bought it for.

However, if you have a tv and simply want to play DVDs or TV sound through the amp then it works fine for that purpose.

You need to buy audio leads separately so you can listen to the tv through the speakers, i also had to get a hdmi lead which is optional. The advertising needs to make all this more obvious! However i am very happy with the product now i have all the correct equipment.

Have purchased numerous Sony products in the past and true to form they continue to impress, even their products at the lower price range.
Good reproduction of sound along with any Sony Bravia product.
Excellent price for those looking for the mid-ranged products. Clear Instructions for connections to other media. Also has connection to receive radio stations.
Only down side is that volume level could be maximised but there is a sufficient level for the smaller room.

Received this and it did not have the HDMI cable. This was a present so a little dissapointed.
The old Sony surround fitted to the TV Sony Bravia. This had 5 cables that fitted, this new one has 3 cables only so can it be used on the same TV.
The SET UP button does not appear to work as it does not bring up the display screen on the TV
No Picture only sound on the 2x front speakers when DVD Player on
Radio and CD works out of all the speakers
Not able to get it to work on the TV even though it displays that the DVD is connected

Any assistance would be great

The reviews so far dont really do justice to this home theatre system and other review sites rate it higher. The all in one system is really easy to set up and the sound is impressive for the price and size of the speakers.
I only with that the cables on the satellite speakers were longer. Suitable for a small to medium size room. I was looking at a more expensive system but happy I settled for this system.
